Disappointing - 2 out of 5

Shelena, visiting Barclays Center Sun, 19 October 2014

Check in was frustrating because my reservation was not in their system by name but eventually found by the credit card I used. The negatives outweigh the positives, but I will say they were addressed immediately.

Liked: Free breakfast; free wifi; across the street from a barbecue restaurant, within walking distance to boutiques.
Disliked: Tub filled with water when showering; telephone had no dial tone; toilet had dry urine on the seat; bed sheets and blanket were not changed based on the amount of hair and blood stain.

convenient and comfortable hotel made...

Liked: room was clean and bed was comfortable. we were in the first floor with an egress window. shower was excellent, breakfast was good. staff was friendly.
Disliked: a bit damp and dark because we?re were on a lower floor. need better exhaust in the bathroom. getting to the room was challenging.

Pleasant

Liked: Had a king size bed but, it could?ve been way more than what it was. Bathroom could?ve been a little bigger the door was too close to the tub.
Disliked: It?s was overpriced for the room size itself ! Also the key cards they provided us the first time did not work after my first night of staying. I asked for the keys to fixed and they only fixed one and not both. I tried to get into the room once the key was fixed BUT, it still did not work at all! I had to get two new cards and it did give me a little trouble but, I did eventually got into my room.

Great location and huge bed...

Liked: Huge and comfy bed; generous breakfast; friendly and helpful staff
Disliked: Reception area looks a bit run down. There's only one lift and it's very slow. Some healthier breakfast options would be nice.

if you?re only sleeping in...

Liked: location was good; my husband and i both used to live on this street when we lived in brooklyn. parking lot was a good option and is a pretty penny for the convenience.bathroom in the room was decent; good water pressure.
Disliked: ?first floor? room = underground. if you are bringing your dog for your stay be warned, i read other reviews thinking first floor is great for convenience. however, a room in the basement is very different and you will feel like you?ve been shunned to the bunker and you?ll have windows but you can?t open then window treatments because all you see is the wheels in the parking lot.if you bring a dog you pay more than a regular guest and you get a terrible room on a floor that smells and the room is very stuffy. to get to your room, you either wait for the elevator servicing 8 floors that usually is helping people that need access to those higher floors, or walk up the center stairs and then quietly sneak through the 2nd floor to a stairwell that goes down. none of the other stairwells access the basement. in the stairwell you will find buckets of dirty water, a mop, trash, and some other odds and end. then you maneuver the already cramped hallway amidst the giant empty laundry bins since the basement closet is also the storage. this was our 23rd hotel we have stayed at with our dog in the past two years and by far the most sub-par. the only good thing about the basement with your dog is to get out to the parking lot is quick, but you can?t get back in easily. also, unfortunately, it was down pouring during our entire stay and so we needed to do more in the room than only sleep.
