The hotel location was perfect and the views were great. We only stayed one night so our needs were few. We came in to Chicago by train and walked to the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised that a room was available and we were allowed to check in early. However, when we tried to get some lunch we were told that lunch was only being served in the bar and the menu we were given was very limited (7 or 8 items).
Liked: We were allowed to check in very early (around 11:00am)
Disliked: No ice bucket in the room; very limited lunch menu and only served lunch in the bar.

Liked: Room was clean, nice decorations
Disliked: On arrival the gentleman checking me in was in training with a ribbon stating so and no one training him. He was unsure of what he was doing and had to leave the desk to go to the back to ask questions, after which he only spoke to get forms signed. Was not courteous at all - maybe I'm just used to southern hospitality. We had no information in the room for areas of attraction, restaurants etc. which I found strange as every place I have ever stayed at has at least a list of channels for the TV which we again did not find in our room. We did go to the desk and ask and got 3 different answers from 3 different people. Validating the parking ticket was a joke - 35 dollars a day to park when we could have parked for 14 dollars a day at other parking garages - most places usually give a discount, not rob the patron. Guess this is the friendly way of Chicago, again. Only being allowed to use a cart with bellhop attached is ridiculous when having to take 2 elevators to the street level. The main reason I chose to stay was in name and service of Holiday Inn, not big city robbery at the expense of the patron. Rooms I reserved in August were on different floors? Again not convenient. This was a Christmas gift for my family from me to them - wow Gatlinburg, TN would have been so much better. We forget how good we have it in the South. On check out they screwed up majorly one more time. We took the room keys when asked at the front desk if we needed to leave them - then guess what? We were stuck in the wonderful parking garage to walk back up the steps into the hotel, up the elevator to wait on the attendant to say sorry, and make a generic ticket for us to get out of the garage. Apparently with the speed and accuracy of this, the problem happens often. Oh and thanks for the wounderful thin walls/adjoining room door to our neighbors - we got to listen to 3a.m. moaning both nights of our stay. Chicago style I would guess. Needless to say, we will not be returning to your facility in the future and hope that those that follow our stay there get better service than we did. Again if you ever get to Tennessee, check out the people who smile at you, enjoy the free parking, the grass, and the fresh air.

It was outdated for $365 for one night! Exhaust fan from kitchen filled up the hallway at midnight and scared us!

The price you pay for...
Liked: The room was clean and beautiful.
Disliked: The lady at the front counter was unbelievably rude to me. I felt like a child being chastised for asking a question. We had a buffet for breakfast & the eggs were soupy. Very undercooked. It was hard to regulate the temperature in the room and it was very noisy.
