Excellent.

Liked: Everything; happy, helpful staff.
Disliked: The queue for bacon butties after the show.

Will never stay at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole again as they would not listen to my complaint (which was justified). We ended up having to take the twin room as we had nowhere else to stay but was bitterly disappointed as it was not the room I had booked and it was for our anniversary too. They waived the car park charge as recompense - big deal!

Liked: Room tidy and clean.
Disliked: Did not have the room I had booked (Queen sized bed with view) and offered me a twin room even though I had an email confirmation sheet stating my room was booked! They told me my reservation had been cancelled which is nonsense. Bitterly disappointed.

One night stay to see a concert at Genting Arena.

Liked: Lovely room; very professional and friendly staff.
Disliked: Nothing; all good.

Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Michelle B, Swindon, visiting Resorts World Arena Birmingham Mon, 21 March 2016

The guy who checked us in was so friendly and professional. My daughter took an instant liking to him as he made time to talk to her. Fantastic location, great for visiting the NEC. Two negatives were: poor service in the bar in the evening. Ordered a coffee and after waiting 20 minutes for it to arrive I went back to the bar for a refund to be told it was made and sat waiting on the side as they couldn't find me (luke warm by this point). So the barman watched me struggle with my daughter, who'd by this point fallen asleep on me, and my coffee. As we'd attended a concert the evening before we liked the fact we didn't have to check out until 12pm. However at 9.45am we had a member of staff banging on the door to see if we were still in the room. Then told me I should put the do not disturb on our door if we didn't want anyone knocking on the door. As a 5* hotel I would have expected you to have the technology to notify housekeeping on check out!

Liked: Great location; lovely reception staff.

Very Good - 4.0 out of 5

Kitchen, Manchester, visiting Resorts World Arena Birmingham Thu, 9 July 2015

We found our stay at the hotel to be very comfortable. The only thing to mar this was a problem with car parking. After arriving at the hotel we could not find a suitable parking space. We left the hotel grounds and parked in one of the car parks for the Genting Arena incurring an £8 parking fee. After the concert we moved our vehicle into the hotel car park and paid a further £9 to park. I would suggest therefore get to the hotel early if you want to find a space!

Spent one night after watching War of the Worlds and the location was great. The hotel is expensive - £4 for a coke and £3.50 for a tea to the room but it was expected. £20 per breakfast was too much for even me though. In general very nice, expensive, but a step up from a budget hotel.

Liked: Clean and comfortable.

Liked: Beautiful hotel and so handy. Swimming pool is a dream.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Anonymous, Leicester Sun, 21 October 2012

We were put in the Pavilion for breakfast, which seemed to be an overflow room if the Boulevard was too full. I'd eaten in the Boulevard before and the food was fairly hot. Can't help but think that because we were put in the overflow room the food and staff weren't so good. To make it worse, no one asks if the food is OK or if you need anything else. It's just very self service and the staff don't bother asking if the meal is OK, which strikes me as very lacking on customer focus.

Liked: A quick check in process and a warm welcome. Overall the hotel was very clean and very close to the LG Arena, The NEC etc.
Disliked: Cold breakfast. Had to ask staff for a pot of tea at breakfast because they never asked what we wanted. Tea made in a teapot that had previously had coffee in. I hate coffee, so couldn't drink it. The toaster was only toasting one side at a time, so had to put bread in twice.

Liked: Lovely hotel, great accomodation and staff were lovely - despite there not being enough of them! Really close to LG Arena too - would stay again.
Disliked: Bar massively under staffed - 30 minute wait for a drink!
