Large hostel, don't expect to...
Liked: Cleaned daily
Lovely atmospheric communal areas
Large rooms with lots of space, including lockers
Disliked: Activities advertised more or more of them (reception staff seemed to be played computer games a lot of the time) Variety at breakfast Better coffee!

Better luck Sleeping out on...
Disliked: Room smelled like cigarette smoke, I had a few bags to take up to my room, had no help and was not offered but 2 workers were at the desk screwing around on the internet with no one else there, I had to wait about 10 minutes to use the only crappy elevator in the place because the cleaning staff was using it and didn't even offer to let me go first, they just rushed right in front of me, and I have disabilities, some Hostel more like a prision. Tacky and outdated.

Liked: Great vibe in the hostel itself. Breakfast was nice and the staff super helpful and friendly. Coffee and tea available all the time & great wifi. Dorms a bit small but pretty much all you need for the stay. Each dorm room had its own shower and toilet which was great as we've had to share showers with a whole hostel before, ugh.
Disliked: Everyone gets the jist from other reviews - homelessness is an issue. They wont bother you directly, they tend to stick to themselves but coming from NZ, it was an eye opener. If anything it makes you appreciate what you have. As a solo female traveler, you may like to be in before dark or stick with a group. Its common sense really. Street sounds are an issue - i.e homeless people with loud boom boxes and fire engines, car alarms etc. Solution = ear plugs.
