Cosy, Elegant, Friendly and clean
Liked: The staff were friendly and took time out to make you feel welcome. They gave us tips of places to visit and places to park. The location was perfect. Breakfast and evening meal exceptional.

Valentines dine & stay
Liked: Hewitt?s is an old building with a contemporary feel. Stayed in a deluxe king for valentines and dined in the restaurant. The meal was superb I would give a 10 out of 10. Staff were attentive and friendly which added to the enjoyment of our stay. A nice touch giving all female diners a single red rose ?? would definitely return. Thank you Hewitts

Liked: The staff team were brilliant, very friendly and efficient. Really seemed to genuinely care.
Disliked: The room was a little basic, not only did it not match the photo on the email but it was a bit shabby in places and it could do with some chairs, if you didn't want to sit on the bed it was either the bedside cabinet or the windowsill

The management really need to...
Liked: The location was conveniently close to the centre of Newport.
Disliked: This was not what I call a hotel - it was just a restaurant with rooms above. For most of our stay, even the restaurant was closed. There was no permanent staff and one day there was not even any breakfast - we hunted for staff and there was no-one around. We ended going a sister hotel in the town and were given breakfast there. If you come to the Island in future, don't bring a car - the ferry fares are extortionate and everywhere you leave your car, you have to pay , even at night and on weekends. The bus service is very good, however. The reception desk was at another hotel in the town, so when we arrived, we were not able to get in until we had located the other hotel and walked there with our cases to collect a key. There were several faults with the room which we reported, but no action was taken while we were there.

No staff, no heating
Liked: Room spacious. Heating broke down on second day, got transferred to a very mediocre noisy hotel. That is another story
Disliked: Heating failed on first full day. Abandoned hotel on day two.

Disliked: The checking in process. There was no one available at the property at the time the room was required.
