Charlotte H, Colchester, visiting Electric Ballroom London Mon, 26 February 2018
We stayed at this hotel due to it's location to the Electric Ballroom and came recommended. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. We were stuck in a basement room - I appreciate we booked a standard room but even standard has certain needs. The room on arrival was freezing cold. Turned the radiator on but not much heat. Due to no window being able to be opened in the bathroom, the bathroom fills with steam and all your products end up covered in condensation. Leave the door open you would think - no, there is a sign to say the steam will set off the hotel's fire alarms. The room was very, very dated, almost like visiting your mam's house about 30 years ago. There was a chink out of the bottom of the door and a piece of wood clearly covering up a hole. Anyway, arrived back from the concert at about 11.30 that night to a room where the radiator had been left on full as we knew it would be cold. Was the room warm? No the heating was off. A nice thick duvet you would think - no, a piece of paper to be honest springs to mind. Yes, there was a blanket in the wardrobe but this was stained yellow on unfolding it, where clearly it had been stored and not cleaned for many years. Would I stay here again? Not a chance and I won't be recommending it to anyone I'm afraid!

Good location as close to gig I was attending and also Camden Market. I was staying in a room by myself, but for some reason they gave me a room with a double and a single bed. The plug sockets were oddly placed as none near the beds for when you want to charge the phone overnight and need it near you for alarm or for use whilst charging. The TV was quite small for the size of the room. Woke up early to have a shower and had to run the water for about 30 minutes just to be able to be at room temperature. So basically had a cold shower. Also no hairdryer in room. Hotel seemed clean and staff were average.

Room was very big and nice, lovely and clean. Good mirrors; good working shower. Was nice to have a fan as the room got quite warm. Staff pleasant; price was brilliant; will be returning.

Liked: The room itself was very big with a good en suite bath/shower. Anything extra we required for the room the staff handled happily and swiftly, good location in Camden and not too far a walk from the market.

Disliked: I arrived to be told that my booking had to be shortened due to building going on on it?. then was no apologies no discount. just no explanation just like it wasn?t their problem? the room curtains bathroom were filthy? the persons before soap was in the shower. I stayed because I was writing about a gig I was going to? they didn?t know the location of the venue? I asked could they order me a taxi?. they couldn?t even do that!!!! it was a dreadful experience to stay there. very rude and a filthy room
