It was up the hill...

Liked: We arrived during a power cut. when there is a power cut in that area there is also no water as it is run up the hill with an electric pump. so we arrived in our floor in the pitch black and had to use our own torch to carry
Disliked: We arrived during a power cut. when there is a power cut in that area there is also no water as it is run up the hill with an electric pump. so we arrived in our floor in the pitch black and had to use our own torch to carry our luggage in. The carpets on the landing were covered in bleach marks. The fridge in the room turned off as it was on a timer switch. The staff on reception did not accept that our fridge was on a timer switch - i literally took the timer switch to reception for them to actually accept that our fridge had been on a timer and had therefore switched itself off at 11pm.

Liked: Staff were pleasant and helpful. Bed was quite comfortable.
Disliked: Generally a very tired room.. Mould on the bathroom windows and shower. No extraction fan. Basin tap didn't work properly with just a trickle of hot water. We were put off eating there in case the same standards applied.

Liked: Staff, location, grounds and elegance of the building.
Disliked: Bed mattress was uncomfortable and hard springs. Breakfast buffet was limited, not 4*.

Overall pretty good, but slightly...

Liked: Lovely bed, lovely view.
Disliked: Would have liked to be able to open the window a little more than 6 inches.Hot water took a little while to arrive at the tap.
