It was just ok
Liked: The location was chosen because it was near the town and on a bus route so easy to get into the city centre.
Disliked: The breakfast was not breakfast as we were expecting it was a breakfast bag. At no time was this explained to us in the booking before hand.

Short stay in Edinburgh

Disappointing
Liked: Fantastic view from the bedroom window. Breakfast is basically a packed lunch, which a lot of establishments do these days. Nice bread, proper cheese (rather than processed slices), luxury yoghurt (lovely, but would have been nice to have a different flavour, rather than the same one every day. Banana, again, would have been nice to have a different type of fruit, rather than the same every day. Lots of information provided via mobile phone re what to do in the area, which was very good.
Disliked: I stayed in room number 1. The soap holder in the shower room fell off the wall as soon as I touched it. The sink in room 1 needs attending to. Water takes forever to drain away. I could have reported it, but couldn't be bothered. sink is obviously blocked and whoever cleans the rooms should already be aware of this. I can't comment on the owners/staff as I didn't meet them. Property is more like an air b&b than a guesthouse, and I certainly didn't feel valued as a guest. Most of the things mentioned are minor, and can easily be remedied. I don't like giving bad reviews, but have to give honest feedback.

I THINK THE OWNER WANTS...
Liked: BUS STOP TO THE CITY RIGHT OUTSIDE.
Disliked: NEVER SEEN THE OWNER , BREAKFAST IN A BAG OUTSIDE ROOM DOOR . FREE TOILETRIES = 2 TINY BARS OF SOAP , NOT EVEN A FULL TOILET ROLL. NO RECEPTION ON T,V, . WET ROOM LIKE A SWIMMING POOL AFTER 2 MINUTE SHOWER. DUSTY SKIRTING BOARDS AND SHOWER VENT. OWNER NEVER REPLIED TO PHONE CALL OR MESSAGES.

Convenient quiet location with a...
Liked: Great location with bus to Edinburgh city Centre stop at the door. Easy walk to the beautiful botanical gardens. Continental breakfast and water bottles supplied everyday. Would definitely stay here again.
Disliked: We had a little bit of confusion communicating with the lady who serviced the rooms. Maybe a tick list for guests to check what they needed each day could help. Just a suggestion.

All good, but
Liked: Nice, clean and relatively large room, with windows overlooking a calm backyard. Narrow, but comfortable beds. Good location within walking distance both from Leith harbour and the city centre.
Disliked: The bathroom was less clean and the drain in the shower was clogged. We reported it in the morning and were quite disappointed to find it still clogged in the evening when we returned to the guesthouse. There was no word of explanation.
