Very Good - 4.0 out of 5

Jean, Jacksonville Sat, 7 February 2015

It was close to the Amalie Arena; nice clean room at a good rate. It was hard to see the TV at that distance. The only hotel I have stayed in in many years that did not have coffee service in the room. I would stay again if I had a need to visit downtown Tampa.

Liked: Clean rooms; very nice old hotel.
Disliked: No coffee service in room; TV too far from bed.

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Verified Hotel Guest Fri, 23 June 2017

Liked: Location
Disliked: Had 1 roll of toilet paper and some tissues, that was all I got for the week. Sheets were picked/worn beyond reasonable. On arrival there was a dead roach on the bathroom floor. Given the lack of paper i left it. At the end of the week it was still there.

Daniel Sun, 18 June 2017

Liked: Beautiful location of an old hotel with a lot of potential, but it doe not quite live up to that potential
Disliked: The air conditioner would only work for a few minutes at a time leaving the room uncomfortable. The parking is also in a poorly organized lot a block over so it is a pain to park

Okay - 2.9 out of 5

Liked: An available room for the U2 concert so I didn't have to drive back to Orlando. The lobby is beautiful.
Disliked: Staff, shower, general attitude of the staff- cold sprinkler like water pressure. I told the staff at checkout and the reply was well at least you got to take a shower.

Poor - 1.9 out of 5

Robert Sat, 17 June 2017

Liked: Not anything. Clearly this was a nice property once upon a time. (And could be again.) But has fallen on hard times and desperately needs some TLC. Currently it's the Delta Dawn of hotels in Tampa.
Disliked: The place just seemed dirty, worn and dark. We just did mot feel comfortable stayimg there. If you do find youself there by necessity: bring your wireless devices to stream your own entertainment. The have only local channels where 75% show religious content.

Liked: Centrally located downtown, easy to find from I-275/I-4. Great historic hotel and architectural gem with restored fixtures and decor. Friendly and efficient staff. Off-street parking lot, valet parking available.
Disliked: There's an upscale bar and a dining room in the hotel, but no restaurant or room service. This would be a fantastic place to stay if food were on offer, and breakfast included in the rate. You can purchase candy and drinks at the front desk if you find yourself with a late-night snack attack.
