A restaurant with rooms. Wonderful...
Liked: Very welcoming staff. Extremely comfortable bed. Beautiful location and garden gardens.
Disliked: Exceptionally small room. Only one of us could move at one time. Certainly overpriced.

Very quiet and peaceful but...
Liked: The spacious room and location and staff. Lovely fluffy white towels.
Disliked: The room needs a mini fridge. The bulk toiletries in the bathroom cheapen the room. The breakfast. This was stingy and uninspiring. A teaspoonful of fruit in a thickened panacotta is not is not very delectable start. The bacon was like cardboard. The tomato totally tasteless. The poached eggs tasted of the vinegar they were cooked in and the wonderful sourdough bread was toasted and so hard that anyone with false teeth would have broken them! I was given half a small glass of water and my husband half a small glass of orange juice. The cappucinos came in small cups.

Exceptional hidden retreat in the...
Liked: Exceptional. Perfect location for visiting Bakewell, Chatsworth House. Fischers Barlow Hall is a beautiful Manor House with many original features, decorated to a very high standard. We stayed in a garden room which was spacious, warm and cosy. An ideal retreat to escape for the weekend. The staff are polite, friendly and professional. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast at the Fischers was excellent, top quality produce cooked to perfection, served in a lovely relaxed atmospheric dining room. We checked out feeling relaxed, refreshed and blessed we had found this elegant hidden gem in the Peak District.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike, everything was exceptional.

Liked: Very welcoming, friendly staff. It was lovely to be welcomed at the door on arrival. We enjoyed the afternoon treat, too. Our bedroom was inviting with soft lights already illuminating the room. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spotless. Loved the extras in the bathroom, especially the makeup remover pads, as I'd forgotten mine.We wished we could have stayed longer.
Disliked: Husband thought baked beans would have been nice with the delicious English breakfast.
