Brilliant - will definitely stay...

Liked: Spa was fabulous - loved that you could order drinks whilst in the outdoor jacuzzi. Also a good variety of different types of saunas (about 4 I think?) Staff were all really friendly. Greeted with a glass of bubbles on arrival. beautiful building and grounds. Amazing breakfast. Had a brilliant stay overall and will definitely visit again.
Disliked: everything was pretty great except (and it's quite minor)Pool could have been slightly bigger - there were two people already in it doing lengths - and there was barely room for me to do them as well.

An exceptional hotel, that may...

Liked: The property is beautiful and has a very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are fabulous and get the balance of modern facilities, relaxation and vintage property just right. The food is better even than one would expect and does deserve a call out in its own right. Little things like the coffee at breakfast that people might not notice are good, even room service pizza is excellent. Full marks to the food side.
Disliked: When we were there, the hotel had a problem with hot water in the spa facilities, which wasn't great, meaning several features were out of order. My biggest issue with the hotel is the fact that they didn't really pick up the phone from guest rooms. Reception is busy I get that, but there's no excuse for other departments, (eg room service) not answering straight away. On multiple occassions over multiple days I had to wait more that 5 minutes for any calls to be answered. Another small gripe is the tea in the room. If you offer the guest 5 types of tea to choose from (and there's no need to offer so many infusions) that means they only actually have one tea bag to make normal tea between two people from evening to morning. Common sense says that's silly. Two regular teabags would be the minimum, four to be safe overnight, and these should be topped up by room service morning and evening. Guests shouldn't have to chase tea bags for days.

Fantastic place

Liked: Best thing about our stay was definitely the staff! They were really helpful and sympathetic. We were treated really really well - above average. It made us feel really welcomed. The room was fantastic- very clean and spacious. The Cedar restaurant is amazing! The food and the service exceeded our expectations. The spa area is perfect - really clean, modern and spacious.
Disliked: We were a bit disappointed with the food from the bar area. First time we’ve ordered the gnocchi and it was really salty. During the second time, we order a pizza (it was ok) and a burger (this one I’d recommend). The service was great though!
