Liked: They gave me a room with 2 queen beds (even though I booked a King) and then changed me more to change to the King.

Atrocious

Liked: The facilities were clean.
Disliked: I booked a room for my husband, myself and two young daughters for my daughter’s 8th birthday party. Upon checking in the front desk clerk Sherry was informed it was for my daughter’s birthday party with several friends from school and we would be using the pool. Sherry even stated “that’s nice, I will make sure there are extra towels in the pool area.” I thanked her profusely and went out to gather our things. We went up to the room, which was small but adequate. We asked if we could set her dinner and desert items in the dining area and Sherry said it was fine. So we did just that. Gigi informed Sherry that a dance troop apparently needed the dining area by 6pm. Sherry informed us we would need to be done using the area by 6. We were more than okay with that even though it left us crunched for time. After the guests arrived and ate (7 children excluding my 2 girls and a few of the parents stayed but did not plan on swimming just watching their children) we were cleaning up and approached again by Sherry, who informed us she didn’t realize our party was more than the children assigned to the room ( what kind of birthday party is just the child who’s birthday it is? And why wasn’t that mentioned when we checked in and spoke about the party?) and there would be an extra charge for the other children to swim. Also an extra charge for their parents to enter the pool area to watch their children. My question is why was this not mentioned at all until the children were about to go in and swim??? Money grab!!! The pool was so chlorinated that the children complained about their eyes burning and the hot tub was drained and not able to be used, which also was not mentioned. They charged 180$ extra for the kids to swim and two extra parents to sit and watch their children swim, without all of the pool and hot tub to be in working order??? Insane. The crown jewel of Canton ???

Disliked: Booked specific for the pool/ hot tub. Hot tub not in working order. The 2nd Marriott booked in 2 months that the hot tub was not operational.
