handy and a reasonably priced...

Liked: the location was convenient in spite of the road construction as I was on a long distance trip. The room was clean and had what I needed. Breakfast was served early which was what I appreciated as I wanted to hit the road . |Parking was available close to the door Staff were polite and helpful. Room was well heated withut having to run the noisy in room unit.

Liked: The bed was comfortable, the sheets were clean, the pillows were comfortable. I was ok with the bar of soap provided for body soap. The towels were present, of a good size, and clean.
Disliked: When I arrived there were two police cars parked out front. As I walked in there was one office talking to the employee at the desk, and there was a woman walking out who appeared to be under the influence of some drug (possibly meth). Do not be fooled by the Windham name, this is an OLD Days Inn, that has had a very cheap facelift by Windham. The clerk gave me my key card and check me in, he reeked of cigarettes' while telling me not to smoke in the room about 4 times. He was kind, however, and I appreciated that. When I walked around the parking lot to get to the side entrance to go to my room, there was another officer walking around the parking lot with a flash light. Maybe this should have been comforting? I wasn't sure... It made me think there was possibly a criminal on the loose.The worst part: when I got to the room the seal around the door was very loose. There was so much space between the door and the door frame I feel like somebody could get close and see through it. I had to jiggle the door to get it to lock and even then I wasn't really confident that it was secure. This kind of creeped me out, but then even worse - I went over the window and it was unlocked. It was on the ground floor and it was a large window that would have been very easy to open from the outside and climb in. The room was facing the parking lot, and I worked on slamming the windows closed and I believe that they were closed, but I was not confident that they were locked. I was in a really tight situation because I had to go to work really early in the morning and I was exhausted. But I might have felt safer sleeping in my car.

Liked: Location was good, near highway. Diner next door had good food and desserts. Stores nearby so that was helpful. Room size was good.
Disliked: Heating unit in the room was not very good. It was difficult to regulate temperature and stay warm. Breakfast was none-existant due to lack of food or choices. Only thing available was apples.They had NO coffee maker in the room as listed in room description. There were coffee in the lobby but was old and very cold; not pleasant to try to drink. People would smoke by all the entrances leaving us non-smokers to take in second hand smoke.
