Disappointing

You get what you pay...

Liked: Neighborhood was cool once you crossed the highway, a lot going on in a up-and-coming, gentrified area. Easy access to I-35 and beyond. That's really it.
Disliked: The breakfast was non-existent, it had been stopped by management with no explanation. Fine, I wasn't around for it anyway. The property and the room? Dirty in so many different ways: Stains on almost EVERYTHING: comforter, chair, ottoman, seating desk, desk chair, walls, ceiling, etc., "clean" linens that still had hair in them that wasn't mine (also stained), whole panels of wall missing in the bathroom, stains on the shower curtain, NASTY showerhead full of calcium build-up, etc. The biggest complaints I have: I was put into the very first room off of the foyer and immediately adjacent to Housekeeping. This meant that I was stuck listening to very loud conversations between the employees at all hours. As others have said the walls were very thin and sounds traveled entirely too well. Not all of the staff were as friendly as the woman who checked me in: Getting something from my car around 9:30 pm and the desk employee at the time was a man who looked at me like I was the dumbest human being on Earth when I didn't know the entrance door didn't open automatically after a certain time without using your room card. The TV remote only worked about 1/3 of the time and that was after the desk employee went through four of them to find one that sort-of worked. And no, it could not be activated or operated without the remote, I tried repeatedly. The ultimate annoyance: When I made this reservation almost 11 months ago I specifically and clearly asked that Housekeeping NOT take care of my room until after I checked out. I've had items stolen too many times to want or need strangers with sticky fingers around my personal belongings. This was written, approved TWICE, on the reservation, and ignored.

Liked: The guy at the front desk was really nice
Disliked: The room smelled funny and I didn't sleep well because it was so loud in the halls

Exceptional

Liked: Great customer service and very clean rooms.
Disliked: I did not like the fact that they stop serving breakfast in the morning.

Liked: That I was able to book it early and not have to deal with check in for too long
Disliked: No elevator to the 2nd floor no breakfast that was advertised Some of the staff was very rude. I requested a smoking room and was told you couldn't smoke anywhere in the building
