Liked: Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Even with the loud protesting going on outside the staff managed to be very welcoming and had smiles on their faces.
Disliked: The protesting right outside doors. But as soon as you went to your room, you couldn't hear a thing.

Liked: I was pleasantly surprised- location (close to the Santa Monica Pier and 3rd street promenade and shopping centre), kind staff, great service, no hidden charges or fees, amenities, all the comfort and quality you could expect from Marriott. I was a bit hesitant to choose this hotel at first because it is so close to the metro E line station, but I enjoyed a cozy room and complete silence. I recommend this hotel especially for longer stays.
