I ended up staying at a Marriott after trying two rooms, accessed by a very moldy-smelling external elevator. I asked the general manager to refund my money but I have no idea how that will work.

Great location with clean bed

Liked: centrally located very near the downtown and next to the main road. very easy to get around denver
Disliked: not much negative things to talk about. great place overall

Disliked: arrived at hotel only to find out we had no room. had to go somewhere else. They gave option of refund or another hotel (they were great) which was 20min drive back towards the airport where we came from. Over 1 hour wasted. We just happened to be 1 of 3 guests they didn't contact to let us know. As I said the back up hotel was great. Any future trips will be with the hotel we ended up with! After a very long day of travel this is the last thing you want to happen.
