On the whole a pleasant...

Liked: Breakfasts were good and also the dinner. Staff were quite friendly. The setting was good and enjoyed walking in the attractive grounds.
Disliked: Size of first room on arrival was inadequate and layout was impractical with little room to move around which prompted a change of room which was a slight improvement. Had to ask for towels since only one set provided for two people. Self service breakfast on first morning and we were advised about 9.20 that they would be clearing away . Since breakfast was up to 9.30 we felt this was unreasonable and not good PR. However due to waiter service, the second 2 mornings were an improvement.

Need I say more

Liked: Beautiful building in a beautiful location. History was flowing from every corner.
Disliked: Receptionist didn't acknowledge me . Just stared at me. When I asked him if he wanted me to say anything he just said "name?" Despite the awkward check in process after that he went on to tell me he had given me a bigger room as the room allocated was small. Imagine my horror when I went into "gabour" which was approx 7ft wide and had no resemblance to the pictures on the website. Not even close. More akin to a travelodge. Shame everything else was first class , felt ripped off with the room because I was single occupancy.

Really good and I would...

Liked: Very comfortalbe bed, incredibly helpful staff and excellent food
Disliked: Room was beautiful but very small - I know I got the room at a good rate but I stuggled with the lack of space and I was only staying one night.
