Don?t stay here if your...
Liked: Nothing. There was nothing to like about this place but for the fact I made it out alive.
I called ahead of time to ask if there was contactless check-in due to Covid and the front desk manager, who later identified himself as the owner, laughed at me and said ?We don?t believe in that and no, we don?t wear masks?, as though he knew my next question.
Once I checked in and walked up the crooked stairs (this place is a personal injury attorney?s wet dream) and down the hallway that smelled like cigarettes, I entered my room to find a horror scene. Broken glass in the bathroom, hair in the sink, towels sloppily folded, the cords that used to plug-in from the TV to the wall were unplugged and stripped, cigarette burns that were viewable in the pillows and blankets from where I stood at the door. It looked like someone had punched the towel rack and there were large sooty-looking spots on the wall that looked like there?s been a small fire.
I was given 1 pillow that was tossed on the side of the bed. I realize the Burton, MI is the kind of place that doesn?t inspire dreams, but it was very obvious that whoever works here cares very little about how they present themselves, what they do for a living, and take zero pride in their work. I don?t care if you shovel poop at a zoo for a living, care about what you do and good things will follow.
I asked for a room change since the TV didn?t work, most of the lamps didn?t work, and I couldn?t find a good portion of the bed without cigarette burns. The owner, never saying a word, exchange keys with me for the room next-door to the original room. This room was just as bad but it had two pillows, so I slept, fully clothed and with a hat on.
The second room, the smoke detector has been taken out of the ceiling and being that everything is wired the way it is these days, there was a horrible ?reminder beep? about every minute and a half coming from the ceiling for the smoke detector to be put back in place.

RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!!!
Liked: The young lady at the front is as far as the pleasantries for this facility go.
Disliked: From the moment I got to this Inn it was a bad time. First they charge you to program your room key, as if people go around intentionally deactivating them. Then when I finally locate my room on the, I look to see 5 police cars responding to a call here. Ok...its super late and I've been on the road all day...I just want to get some sleep, I'll write it off to someone having a crazy evening. Well...the room looked like something you'd find in a horror film. Stained and extremely worn carpet. When I pulled back the sheets on the bed, they were full of holes and the mattress underneath would make you run for the hills. I've seen dumpster finds cleaner than that. The bathroom was disgusting, like a port-a-pot at a music festival. Neither the tub or sink drained, and there was some questionable globs in the drain of the sink. For this stay I: 1) did not sleep on the sheets at all. 2) did not shower or put my rear on that toilet. 3) constantly checking for creatures bc I found a few stinkbugs. 4) kept waking up bc the TV was severely damaged and kept coming on and off at all hours of the day and night. Overall I would NEVER recommend this place. Even out of desperation you might be better off sleeping in a bathroom stall.
