Avoid if possible

Liked: The Drift Inn's proximity to the ocean and the Santa Cruz boardwalk was fantastic! It was perfect for a quick beach getaway. My room had a semi private patio, which offered a quiet place to relax even though it didn't overlook the ocean. The in-room mini fridge was a convenient amenity, especially for keeping drinks and snacks cold.
Disliked: While the staff at Drift Inn were friendly, several issues made my stay unpleasant. The room smelled strongly of smoke and stale beer. The bedsheets had concerning stains, and the bed frame creaked noisily with any movement. The provided towels and toiletries were low quality, and the water pressure was weak. Overall, the hygiene and condition of the room were not up to par. I would only recommend this place as a last resort.

Horrible experience, I do not...

Liked: I had a reservation, arrived at hotel and was refused a room because we "smelled like smoke". Beware do not go here, reservations mean nothing.
Disliked: Staff was terrible and uncompassionate. Told me to call his boss next week when he got back. I made a reservation and was denied a room. Leaving me completely confused and ashamed as to why I wasn't good enough to get a room.

Liked: Great location, walking distance to the boardwalk and downtown. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The manager helped bring our stuff down with a smile. Rooms were large and we got a free upgrade. Lots of good channels on the tv. Good value for your money. Would stay here again.
Disliked: The bathroom sink clogged up. The tv remote was sticky. There was a random chair by the kitchen like area was dirty.

Great location and the best...

Liked: The manager was very friendly and helpful. He came to inspect the window screen and blinds which were faulty and assured our safety and that he was on hand 24/7 should we have any concerns. The room was recently refurbished and very clean. Excellent location within 15 minute walk to the beach.
Disliked: I could not find fault with it.

Liked: The staff are so nice the price is super affordable the ac/heating system works great. This hotel never disappoints and is always my go to when I’m in town
