Read bad reviews but we couldn't fault it.

Liked: One night stay - clean, tidy and welcoming.

Disappointing - 2 out of 5

Sharon G, Cheshire Thu, 30 January 2014

We went for a meal in the bar - the meal was raw baked potato with chips? The drinks never came; the rooms were freezing at night; house keeping came and knocked while we were still asleep; the foyer smelled very weird and not pleasant.

Disliked: We arrived to be told that we did not have the twin room we had booked; we were out at the back of the hotel where we couldn't see out for scaffolding.

It has a potential

Liked: I did like the old-fashioned feel of the hotel. All facilities worked. Clean beddings and bathroom. Staff reacted on my request of warm room by providing one in a sunny location.
Disliked: Please change the kettles. They have no filter and when boiled, a black stuff releases into the water! I wasted many liters just to get rid of it only for one cup of tea and then again! The table had a thick dust of something which I wiped myself with wet wipes. I don't know what hoovers you have but the carpet wasn't done. Bits peeled from the old window directly into my bed.

Disliked: Wifi only reached first floor so on second floor i couldn't use it

Good location, shame about the...

Liked: The hotel was near to the city centre and railway station.
Disliked: Rude receptionist when asking for a wifi password. Room is in a desperate need of a refurbishment, think 1980s and that will give you an idea what its like. Room descriptions say 'a room with a view', well if a brink wall with a few windows which was about 3metres away was a view then I wouldnt like to stay in the room with no view.

Disappointing - 2 out of 5

Rubbish

Liked: The night time staff were fablous
Disliked: The gentleman undertaking the check in lacked good customer skills. On check out he didn't even say thank you. The room was hot, close to some air con or other machinery which came on every minute during the night making it virtually impossible to sleep. Windows had safety locks so couldn't open to their full potential on what was a very hot evening. Very disappointing
