Box Canyon Lodge and Hot Springs, Ouray

Very good

Liked: Great value. Hot springs hot tubs on the property. Updated rooms were clean and comfortable.
Disliked: Staff was a little aloof.

A nice, peaceful, quite stay....

Liked: The room was very nice. We had a private balcony and a huge bath in the honeymoon suite. The staff were all nice.
Disliked: The hot tubs weren't very appealing to my wife, although I though they were fine.

A place to stay in...

Liked: Great deal on a place to stay in Ouray. The room was well stocked. It seemed like there was always parking. The bed was comfortable. The views from the hotel room door are beautiful! The digital check in was very easy to do, that part went fine.
Disliked: Rooms Could be updated. Carpet seemed quite dirty. Noise easily travels and the rooms shake if anyone walks along the breezeway. Pools are small, crowded, busy with children and then they close at a certain hour. There were cleanliness issues with them during my stay there. I do not recommend staying here solely for their hot tubs if you're seeking a memorable hot springs experience. There are much better places to soak in the area.

Liked: The whole experience!
Disliked: That the hot tubs could at least go till 10pm or even 930pm. There was seriously like 5 other people staying at the time we did. No one around us n the rooms, which was nice but the guy who worked there kicked out right at 8:55pm. It was quite and peaceful. No one making a disturbance or being loud. We got in late due to a snow storm and checked in at 6 at dinner and only used the hot tub for 20 mins before being kicked out.

We had a fantastic time...

Liked: Adorable vintage property with amazing views. The barrel tubs were intimate and the stairs heated so even in the snow it felt inviting. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and comfortable. We had a great breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Disliked: Staff was available only by phone or text. It wasn’t necessarily bad because they were readily available and texted back very quick but it was a little more fend for yourself vibes because I didn’t want to bother them with small questions.

Liked: Loved the location and the hot tubs. Any place with a continental breakfast is a win.
Disliked: Room was very cold upon arrival. Would have been nice if it was a bit warmer. It looked like you could see under the door out of the room. Once inspected it wasn't as bad as thought, but still gave a group of women a little concern. Also 3 out of the 7 springs were either broken or unfunctional. I didn't receive any notice that there were any out of order until day of reservation and about 2 hours before arrival time. This could have been a deal breaker for some people.
