Hotel Description
Old-world charm a wonderful neighborhood and interesting design bring our guests to the door of the European-style Biltmore Suites. Reasonable rates are another point in its favor. Built in 1880 the historic building isn't short on interesting architectural details. The five-story red-brick mansion has a distinctive gabled roof and a central tower. The 25 non-smoking rooms have an old-fashioned ambiance with frilly curtains and floral wallpaper but also up-to-date amenities like free Wi-Fi. All the rooms are individually decorated but some include four-poster or brass beds. Each includes thoughtful touches like a mini-fridge and a coffeemaker. The prices excellent for a downtown hotel are much less than you'd expect. On the edge of the Mount Vernon historic district in the center of downtown Biltmore Suites is a few blocks from the string of shops known as Antiques Row. The hotel is a 20-minute walk to the Baltimore Aquarium Maryland Science Center and the other attractions surrounding the Inner Harbor. It's about 25 minutes to Orioles Park at Camden Yard home of the Baltimore Orioles the Babe Ruth Museum and the Sports Legends Museum. You can reach most of the attractions by the MTA's Light Rail. Amtrak's Penn Station is less than a mile north and 11 miles south (and on the light-rail line) is Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport. Those in search of Baltimore's past will be drawn to the Biltmore Suites one of the city's most storied lodgings. The rooms are large but the price is most definitely not.

Poor - 0.5 out of 5

Liked: Not much. I will NEVER stay there again. Our room & all common areas reeked of smoke & I was traveling with child. Cigarette butts littered the court yard. Staff was cold & I felt as if I was staying at the Bates Motel...nice antique furniture tho!
Disliked: Everything. No late check out allowed. No continental breakfast as advertise; a few honey buns, granola bars and stale coffee from night before in no way constitutes a CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. I've traveled third worlds and even they have a proper breakfast

Liked: I feel at home every time I stay here.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Darla Fri, 17 November 2017

Liked: The hotel is old and quaint. I stayed three nights, mostly for location, but also really affordable. My room was not warm enough, the weekend weather was in the teens. It appeared that they failed to vacuum the carpet.

Poor - 1.5 out of 5

Verified Hotel Guest Fri, 17 November 2017

Liked: Large rooms
Disliked: Strong odor of cleaning supplies, rough thin towels, public areas are dingy and worn, the "breakfast" was a joke. A carafe of coffee, nondairy creamer, and a scant assortment of off-brand individually wrapped snack cakes.

Poor - 0.5 out of 5

Verified Hotel Guest Fri, 17 November 2017

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Building old. I could smell the old smell in the building. Carpet dirty, bathroom tiles broken. It is not worth it. I paid ---$ or this. I would rather pay another 20-40 more and go to a better place.

4

Very Good - 4.0 out of 5

Jack Fri, 17 November 2017

Liked: Very historic building and historic quality furnishings. Staff was friendly, and helpful.
Disliked: We were unprepared for this hotel. Being an historic building there is no "Ground Level." There are 12 steps from the sidewalk to check in desk. There are 76 steps to the top floor. There is no onsite parking. They use a garage 2 blocks away.
