Hotel Description
Old-world charm a wonderful neighborhood and interesting design bring our guests to the door of the European-style Biltmore Suites. Reasonable rates are another point in its favor. Built in 1880 the historic building isn't short on interesting architectural details. The five-story red-brick mansion has a distinctive gabled roof and a central tower. The 25 non-smoking rooms have an old-fashioned ambiance with frilly curtains and floral wallpaper but also up-to-date amenities like free Wi-Fi. All the rooms are individually decorated but some include four-poster or brass beds. Each includes thoughtful touches like a mini-fridge and a coffeemaker. The prices excellent for a downtown hotel are much less than you'd expect. On the edge of the Mount Vernon historic district in the center of downtown Biltmore Suites is a few blocks from the string of shops known as Antiques Row. The hotel is a 20-minute walk to the Baltimore Aquarium Maryland Science Center and the other attractions surrounding the Inner Harbor. It's about 25 minutes to Orioles Park at Camden Yard home of the Baltimore Orioles the Babe Ruth Museum and the Sports Legends Museum. You can reach most of the attractions by the MTA's Light Rail. Amtrak's Penn Station is less than a mile north and 11 miles south (and on the light-rail line) is Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport.

avoid

Liked: for $80 a night, it's exactly as you'd expect. dingy, dirty, but cheap.
Disliked: my biggest complaint is that in the non-smoking rooms, smoke from other rooms pours in through the vents, whether they are on or off. the first night I kept the heat off to limit the smoke and froze. the second night I kept the heat on until I felt sick. the windows don't stay open, so it was impossible to air out the room. walls are paper thin; the place gets loud at night. seems like the hotel is mainly used by people in-between housing situations.

Good

Liked: Nice rustic feel. Easy access to nearby university neighborhoods, where my daughter lives.
Disliked: Gotta say the room smelled a little musty or smoky. It was a non smoking room but I wondered if someone had broken that rule. I don?t want to ding the hotel too much, as everything else was fine, but I did notice it a lot.

Pleasant

Liked: The room was very spacious and perfect for a long stay with iron and a small fridge. The beds were very comfortable and in general with very good price to quality relationship.
Disliked: The breakfast was only served from 9-12 and it was a cup of coffee and a muffin. I was expecting something warm and homemade to eat. The area was a bit conflictive and with poor public transport connections to the center.

Liked: The old fashioned of the hotel and the big bed.
Disliked: I didn't like the price for when you do a walk in that sucks.
