Exceptional

Liked: Lovely hotel. Staff are very friendly. The hotel itself is a lovely building, and the room was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend.

Good

Liked: The swimming pool and sauna were excellent. The friendly, helpful person serving breakfast was very good.
Disliked: The very, very long wait in the restaurant (40 minutes) before being asked what I would like to drink or eat.

a great place to stop...

Liked: staff very helpful room was really nice and clean breakfast was good, a nice hotel and large bedrooms, was a change to get such a nice bathroom, we were told it was a nice place to stay and it was very handy for turf moor the home of burnley fc
Disliked: the late check in was my only gripe, but the staff looked after our luggage for us, so we could have a look around the area, its a former manor house so has you can imagine, there is plenty of history

Desperately in need of modernisation!

Liked: The location and the look of the building, I chose the hotel for the pool for the kids
Disliked: I was staying the night with two 7 year old children, double bed and a bed settee. We folded the sofa back up so there was enough space for the children to play and the sofa was disgusting, big stains all over and holes in the arms. There was an inch of dust on the TV . I also wasn't warned I would have to climb hundreds of stairs to get to the room.

Pleasant

Liked: It?s a beautiful large old building in its own grounds. Lovely views of Pendle
Disliked: It?s very dated. Appreciate it would take a lot of money to update it but even little details would help such as improve the coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms, install more plug sockets. There is a beautiful grand staircase with feature stained glass window but the old and busy carpet detracts from its beauty.

Will not stop again

Disliked: Lack of staff, had to wait for staff in the bar area. Had to go get staff when needed to be served. Very poor

Fawlty Towers

Liked: Upgraded room the only positive
Disliked: Reception closed on arrival. Rang the hotel to find staff. Just an answer machine. Had to search downstairs asking wedding guests if any staff were about to check us in! Eventually found a barman left his bar to come check us in- he left his manors on the bar with no apologies for the closed desk! He said for check out in the morning someone would be there... that was a lie. At 7:05am when we left the reception was locked up so couldn?t check out to get a receipt!

Exceptional

Liked: Very nice property. Grand staircase which makes the hotel feel more expensive. Food in the restaurant is good if not a little pricey. Nice and quiet. Relatively good WiFi
Disliked: Breakfast took a little while for a member of the team to take my order although when it did arrive it was brilliant. Some guests complained WiFi wasn?t available throughout the hotel. It?s very easy to get lost as it?s a little bit like a rabbit warren. But signs are easy to follow.
