Good if you're in a...
Liked: The staff was very sweet and answered all our questions.
Disliked: The price we paid onsite was different than the invoice I had from Booking.com by about $12 and then a parking fee was added on top of that. The shower upstairs leaked onto the coffee bar in the morning. The pipes had air in them and make this horrible loud vibrating noise for about an hour in the middle of the night! And the bathroom floor didn't look like it had been cleaned in for-e-ver.

Unpleasant, unsafe and a waste...
Liked: The location is walking distance to the subway, that's the onlything good about this place.
Disliked: Where do I begin! The building itself is hard to find and the main doorand address are not visible from the street. The main wooden door to thebuilding has no lock. It does not lock from the outside or inside. Youcan just push open the door! The door after that is where you need tokey in your access code. Once inside, you need to make sure that thisdoor is firmly shut as it does not close properly...NOT Safe! There is NO ONE there to greet you either. No one at the reception desk and No staff on site in case of an emergency!I had the 'Lighthouse' room. The room itself was big, but that's the only positive thing about it!I had 2 beds, one was so squeaky, I couldn't sleep on it, and the other one had the AC unit directly next to the bed frame (near my head), so I had the air (fan) hitting my head the whole night (It was too warm in the room not the have at least the fan on).I also didn't find the room secure seeing as the room access code was the same code as the access code to the main door (other than one character). I kept hearing noises all night as if someone was trying to enter my room (I heard the beep of the keypad being used). I was up the ENTIRE night, feeling very unsafe, so at 5am, I contacted the property via email and asked if I can change rooms as I didn't feel safe.NEVER was I offered a different room and I was refused a refund for my 2nd nights stay as that's their 'policy'.I chose not to stay the 2nd night as I didn't feel safe and didn't think I'd sleep any better. I don't like staying in a big building, essentially, by myself! I had to scramble to find another hotel and spent an additional 200$ for a room.Shirley, the property owner, LIED to BOOKING.COM, telling them that she offered me a different room, which was NOT the case! BOOKING.COM was able to confirm that no email was sent to me from Shirley, offering a different room.

Liked: Liked that we had access to a kitchen.
The location was quite convenient to the metro and shopping center.
Comfortable place and very 'homey'.
Disliked: It would have been nice to have been greeted in person, or to have seen someone at least once during the stay. Fruit juice was missing from the breakfast offerings.

Never stay and never recommend...
Disliked: No Asante Inn address anywhere, building number unclear - difficult to find, wasted time and money in taxi driving around the block. So-called "private bathroom" was a public bathroom with coded access and located on a different floor. Confirmation was received but manager would not acknowledge that fact, tried to send off.
