Disliked: We arrived expecting a decent hotel and got what felt like the world's worst hostel instead.The room was absolutely tiny - we couldn't even fit our two bags in there properly. There was literally no mattress on the bed! Plus at 6ft tall, my feet were dangling off the end like I was sleeping in a child's bed. The door wouldn't close properly (feeling unsafe) and the safe was broken too.The whole building stunk of grease. Just walking in made us want to turn around and leave, which is exactly what we did. Ended up at the Apex Grassmarket down the road - way better for the same price, would definitely recommend that instead.The manager seemed decent enough when we left and said we'd get a full refund if we contacted Booking.com, for Angels Share to then rejected it! Now I'm stuck dealing with my credit card company to get my money back.Seriously, just don't bother with this place. There are loads of better options in Edinburgh for the same money. This place is an absolute dump and not worth the hassle.

Liked: Food was exceptional, speedy food service, cocktails were lovely, staff were friendly
Disliked: Bathroom wasn't thoroughly cleaned and wife cut foot on broken glass. WiFi was down which didn't impact our stay whatsoever but staff seemed to be extremely disorganised, booked a table for food and had to chase up a food menu after a 30 minute wait after drinks had been served whilst we don't mind waiting, in an empty restaurant this is sub par. Rooms were unbearably hot with little to none ventilation or airflow

Liked: Great location, lovely themed room, staff were happy to cater for our requests as it was a special celebration.
Disliked: Breakfast in the room was fab but there was no table or trolly to eat it from so we had to use the bed, which was okay but a trolley or a fold down table would have been better.
