Square Hotel at Times Square, New York

I knew going in that they were doing renovations. The toilet ran the entire time. The carpet was damp and cold and impossible to walk on with bare feet. Frankly, it was disgusting. I complained but instead of moving us, because it was too late at night to move us, they sent someone with towels to sop up the water and gave us a voucher for a free breakfast. The bed was hard as a rock and the pillows were very uncomfortable. The renovations started up the next morning around 8a.m. so there was no opportunity to take advantage of sleeping in. I paid $300 to stay there and it was definitely not worth that price.

Disliked: Carpet was damp and cold.

Room was very small but ok since we were only there for 1 night and weren't in the room much. It was clean, front desk staff were friendly. Carpeting needs to be replaced.

Liked: It was a place to stay for night so did not expected much. Room was fine, bathroom fine, and that's pretty much it.
Disliked: Looks better in the pictures.

Liked: The hotel location was conveniently located. We were able to walk outside an in the middle of everyting.
Disliked: The heather in the room was a boiler and randomly turned off and on, so our room was cold at times.

Disliked: Hotel Name confusion. I booked with Square Hotel, and my credit card said Amsterdam Court Hotel so I thought my card had been compromised and cancelled it. Got a new card. Your receptionist said, when I asked her about the Amsterdam Court Hotel, "I've never heard of that hotel"!!! It would have saved me a lot of anger and stress if she would have told me that the name had been changed. However, my credit card statement still shows Amsterdam Court! Why is that!?!?!?! Also, No place to open suitcases in your hotel room. Very disappointed!!!
