Disliked: Story w/r to hotel staff:Cielo restaurant:Lofty name in a quick descent.After yesterday’s 30 minute wait at the downstairs “grab n go” for filtered coffee —-broken espresso machine excuse—we decide to try Cielo for Sunday breakfast. Despite only a few tables being occupied , the hostess informs us there would be a wait. (The typical 10 minutes). Sure. No biggie. Beautiful morning, we ask to sit at an outside table and wait for service. 30 minutes later all we have is a place setting. A trip to the hostess stand and we get a menu. Still no server. Finally, totally stressed, she appears only to quickly inform us the only egg choice is scrambled. Maybe we should have tried Denny’s. Ok we go for the scrambled. Coffee comes and 30 more minutes with no sign of server or the scrambled eggs. Not to mention a refill on coffee. Trip to front desk. Room manager who tries to help quickly goes to find Martin, the restaurant manager. Now a message from Martin who wants to comp our meal and come over to speak to us. Not being about money we refuse the comp and wait some more after being told “our order was being fired up right away….scrambled eggs. “Kitchen having problems” ..wait some more. After a total of 1 hour and thirty minutes the cold scrambled eggs eventually make it to the table but Martin never does. On a positive note, there is Gianna who works at the “grab n go”downstairs. She can whip up a mean cappuccino in seconds. Too bad she is off. You should move her upstairs and put her in charge!
