Beautiful inn, wonderfully organised, in...
Liked: Very convenient central location for Charlottesville and the road to Monticello. Excellent breakfast and the evening cheese and wine was a nice touch.
Disliked: No warning about the freight trains at the bottom of the car park - on the first night I thought we were having an earthquake!

Expensive? Do it, it's worth...
Liked: The hospitality here is great, the breakfast and wine hour (don't miss it) we're top notch - oh and the cookies too. Our room wasn't huge but was still lovely. The main building has heaps of charm and the porch is perfect for chilling out. Chester and Charlie are great hosts too
Disliked: Some guests weren't super economical with space in the car park with their parking manoeuvres - not the inns fault.

Disliked: The bed was too firm. The mattress looked new but cheap. There's a train track behind properly.

Liked: The location was great for walking to the mall for food and drinks. The staff was very friendly, the room was nicely decorated and very "homey" It was great that they offered wine and cheeses in the late afternoon, even though only white wines are offered. The breakfast breads were tasty. They have cookies set out all day
Disliked: The bed was pretty hard, at least for my taste It would have been nice if there was a coffee machine either in the rooms, or at least downstairs in the cottage house. Not a big problem, but we had to walk to the main house to get coffee each rainy morning, so a self-serve machine (such as a Keurig) in the entrance downstairs would have been great. Also, a little protein for breakfast, even if just hard-boiled eggs, would have been nice. (they did offer sweetened yogurts)

Disliked: I didn't like that I wasn't in the main house.
