Venue Reviews of Hammersmith Apollo

The thing I love about Hammersmith Apollo is it's size with a capacity of around 8,000 it's so much more intimate than the likes of the O2 or the MEN yet still manages to attract the big names!

Intimate Venue
Sometimes big queues at the bar

Overall I thought the Hammersmith Apollo was great. Ideally situated and easy to get to by tube. I was seated in the front balcony section which meant my view was brilliant! About half way through the gig I was getting hungry but could not find anywhere to get proper food - wish I had grabbed something beforehand!

Front balcony seating excellent
Lack of food in the Apollo

I was seated high up towards the back of the apollo and found that I was constantly being distracted by people in front getting up and down for drinks. Interfered with my view throughout the whole gig!

I arrived by train at Liverpool Street and found the actual tube journey to be quite long, but once you get to Hammersmith the Apollo is clearly signposted and only a 5 minute walk from the station. The venue is quite small, with a capacity of only about 3,500 which resulted in a superb atmosphere. Due to its size, you end up very close to the stage, although there isn't much leg room to dance if you stay in your seats. The bars were resonably priced, and the toilets clean and within close proximity of the hall, so you won't miss any of the action! I highly recommend the Apollo, so next time you get a chance to watch your favourite band play there, snap it up!

Great atmosphere
Not a great selection of refreshments
