Even the words "charming" and "cozy" couldn't do justice to this elegant bed and breakfast, located just a quick MARTA ride away from the Georgia Dome. The airport is also close, as are many other must-do Atlanta activities, like the Georgia Aquarium and Zoo Atlanta.

Looking for some things to do near Georgia Dome? Click to view our full listing of bookable activities in Atlanta!

What is the surrounding area like?

The Georgia Dome is located in downtown Atlanta, meaning that if you're looking for pre- or post-event activity, you'll be spoiled for choice. Bars, restaurants, museums-you can make a day or night of it, just as long as you don't mind crowds.

How can I spend a day in Atlanta before heading to an event?

Fernbank Museum of Natural History

Whether you're a big fan of the dinosaurs, you've always wanted to explore the interior of a red oak, or you're looking to take in a larger than life IMAX movie, the Fernbank Museum of Natural History is a nice heady distraction around 20 minutes' drive away before making your way to the concert or game.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site

Experience the life and legend of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. when you visit the galleries, rose garden, and monument that pay tribute to this important figure in the American civil rights movement. Ranger-led tours of King's home are also available, and well worth the time. This attraction is around half an hour's walk or 10 minutes' drive from the venue.

Piedmont Park

Looking for a breath of fresh air? The centrally located Piedmont Park won't disappoint. Hop onto a Segway, go for a jog, dip your toes in the pool, or take part in any one of the many events that happen yearly in the park. Half an hour away by public transportation, or 20 minutes by car.

Georgia Aquarium

Located conveniently near to the Georgia Dome, the Georgia Aquarium is a must-see, featuring more than 60 exhibits of species from around the world. A highlight for many visitors is a walk through the tunnel, which will make you feel as if you're swimming with the fishes, albeit without the full effect of damp clothing.

World of Coca-Cola

Also nearby is the World of Coca-Cola, where you can see first hand how the company went from a small time medicinal remedy to the worldwide juggernaut it is today. Walk through halls of advertisements, watch the bottling process, and see if you can crack the recipes trade secrets.

Where are the best places to eat and drink near the Georgia Dome?

Alma Cocina

If you're looking for fare that's a little more upscale than what's available at the Georgia Dome itself, Alma Cocina's take on Mexican food is perfect for fortifying yourself before the concert or game. Find old classics and new twists, set in a hip, modern atmosphere.

The Sun Dial

When it comes to restaurants near the Georgia Dome, few offer more delicious and sophisticated dining than the Sun Dial at the Westin Peachtree Plaza. From a dizzying height of nearly 305 metres, you can listen to jazz, unwind with a cocktail after the game, and indulge in upscale dining for brunch, lunch, dinner, or just dessert.

Ray's in the City

As far as chains go, Ray's will impress you with fresh, local ingredients-an important marker of quality seafood dining. Head there before or after the game for a meal to remember.

Any other important information users should know?

Atlanta is hot and sticky in the summer, and often in the spring and fall too. Make sure to bring your sunblock and to stay hydrated throughout the day. And if you're headed to the venue in the winter, don't underestimate the cold. Though it rarely snows here, temperatures can still get surprisingly bitter.

More general info is on the Georgia Dome visitor website.

What's the best way to get to the Georgia Dome?

If you're coming in from the East on the MARTA Blue Line, you can disembark right at the Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center Station. Coming in from the West on the Blue line or on the Green Line, you'll want to get off at W2: Vine City Station and walk to the dome. Signs are well-posted.

Is there any parking?

The Georgia Dome has more than 4,000 spaces available. However, these spots are at a premium on event day, so it's recommended that you pre-book your parking through the Georgia Dome website.

How much are drinks/food in the Georgia Dome?

As with any big event venue, food goes for a premium. But just how much that will cost you depends on the vendor you choose. A barbecue sandwich, for example, will set you back around $9, as will chicken tenders, while higher end food will cost more.

What kind of food and drink can visitors expect?

Food is available on every level and includes burgers, fries, sausages, pretzels, barbecue, pizza, tacos, subs, and a spare salad if you can hunt it down. Domestic, craft, and draft beer are all available.

Does the venue have WiFi? Is it free?

Free WiFi is available throughout the stadium. Simply connect to the network, "DomeWiFi," and you'll be good to go.

What time do doors normally open?

Generally, doors open two hours prior to the event time. Check with your ticket issuer to confirm.

Any other important information visitors should know?

If you're planning on uploading a lot of photos and videos to social media via your smartphone, don't worry about draining your battery. There are charging stations in marked areas throughout the venue.

Very Good - 4 out of 5

, Clarksville Wed, 28 January 2015

For my first time, it was great. The entertainment kept us going. Was thinking that it was going to be like a competition but ended up being just a show. The bands came and brought it. Was a great thing to see Honda and others giving back to the community. Got the chance to be on camera - very interactive. Even brought out live celebrities. It was a wonderful experience. However, needs better parking. The attendants would not let us park in the $15 dollar parking. I had to go to the $20 dollar parking where people did not know how to park. The attendant was very rude. and had us in grass where I got my pants dirty. A parking garage connected to the dome would be nice so handicap persons would not have to walk such a long distance, especially when people have severe asthma and back issues.

Liked: First time - amazing.
Disliked: Parking.

Disappointing - 2 out of 5

, Charleston Tue, 3 January 2012

The big screen is very dated, with hardly any replays - at least at the bowl game I attended. Was very disappointed with this venue - may be the worst professional stadium I've been to.

Liked: Was close to Omni where I stayed
Disliked: Restrooms were awful, beer lines took forever
