ZINNIA is a restaurant featuring upscale American cuisine with Asian, French and Californian influences to tempt even the most discriminating palate.
Fresh seafood can always be found on the menu. The "Trout Zinnia" (pecan, sesame and pine nut encrusted) is just one of our signature dishes. Our pasta is made in-house and changes daily.
Our wine list includes a wonderful sampling from California, France and Italy.As a life-long student of culinary delights, and 10+ years as the chef of Cafe Balaban, St. Louis native David Guempel decided the time was right to open his own restaurant in 1990. Thus Zinnia "bloomed" in it's present location as a joint venture with co-owner, Larry Adams.
David describes Zinnia's fare as "sensible" and enjoys the ability to "break the rules" in what he prepares for Zinnia's devoted patrons. This "recipe" has proven successful as evidenced by Zinnia's many loyal customers and outstanding local and national reviews. (Read more on our Reviews page.)e
