Yi-Ban - Royal Albert Dock
Yi-Ban translates as First Class, so you know how high this establishment is aiming. Set overlooking calm waters at the Dockside Regatta Centre, Yi-Ban has vast, modern spaces full of sunlight and looking out on stunning views. There are smart, sleek design details everywhere in the groovy bar, the cool restaurant, even on the linger-inducing terrace with some Chinese red and gold tactfully employed a well. It has the traditional gigantic Chinese menu, including classic dishes and dim sum, with particular emphasis on the fish and seafood side of things. We always go for Peking or crispy duck, but the shark's fin soup is a favourite, as are the noodle dishes. The full bar with view and terrace makes this a terrific place to gather after work.

When Yi-Ban calls itself a traditional Chinese restaurant in a modern setting, they include service and attention to detail among the cherished traditions. The restaurant is a superb setting for important events, including launches and celebrations, as well as civil weddings and big business bashes. The dining room has long views toward Canary Wharf and the City and, a big bonus, there is plenty of parking.
Menus include crispy aromatic duck with pancakes, sizzling prawns with spicy sauce, fried scallop and cashew nuts, mixed vegetable special fried rice and a sweet. The very international wine list is a good match for the flavours.

Please note that Yi-Ban Royal Albert Dock does not accept toptable.co.uk bookings for lunchtimes on Sunday. Additionally, tables will only be held for 15 minutes for late arrivals, after that time they will be released to other diners.
