Wildberry Restaurant
Originally a period farmhouse and outbuildings, the Rivenhall Hotel’s history is perhaps best displayed in its restaurant. Original brickwork and oak beams lie exposed throughout the low-ceilinged, thick-carpeted, candlelit dining room. Fittingly, they serve modern English meals such as ribeye of beef on juicy bubble 'n' squeak served with gravy. The wider world shows up in successes like the trio of Mediterranean vegetable parcels with feta, and pesto dressing. Such old-fashioned classics as poached red wine pear, and treacle sponge pudding with crème Anglais are a pleasure to see on the dessert list. Diners are typically a blend of locals and hotel guests.
