Secco Restaurant, 86 Pilgrim Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne,

Secco Restaurant

A see-and-be-seen culinary hotspot in Newcastle, Secco Restaurant is just as serious about excellent food as it is about cutting-edge design – and that’s saying something. The de Giorgio family have roots in Salento in Puglia and this haven of elegance reflects the food of their ancestry. Secco Restaurant boasts a Long Bar and Balcony which is a tony spot stuffed with specially-commissioned artworks, the adjoining intimate Blue Room bar, and the ristorante Salentino itself, the heart of it all. The menu includes starter of ocotopus meatballs with croquette of cuttlefish and pecorino stuffed gratinated mussels with mint and almond pesto, pasta of spaghettoni with local pigeon, sage and tomato, main course of grilled pork loin with puy lentils, spinach, and home-cured pancetta and vincotto, and dessert of panforte with chocolate ice cream. Four and six course grand menus are available.
