Rajasthan III
The City can’t seem to get enough of Rajasthan. The success story began with a modest restaurant in Monument. It was recommended by and to so many people that a second branch opened on India Street. Now there’s a third, and it’s just as popular. The glass-front ties in well with the Gherkin next door and makes for a bright and airy space. Inside looks almost exactly like the first two venues; pale walls, dark carpet, white linen on the tables, a smattering of art on the walls. Happily, the menu also matches and is no doubt part of the reason why 80% of the diners are regulars. The wonderful murgh masallum (chicken stuffed with spiced minced lamb) is here, as is the duck mirchi, and the most satisfying lamb shank. Efficient, polite staff offer a free nightcap when they bring the bill. Nice touch, that.
