Glass walls give uninterrupted views of Royal Victoria Dock while potted plants and beautiful artefacts liberally placed around Nakhon Thai’s two open-plan floors hint at an exoticism mirrored in the fantastic food. The oasis spreads outside on to the waterfront where you can relax in the fresh air surrounded by mini palm trees and pretend the Thames Gateway is really the South China Sea. Nakhon Thai Waterfront specialises in large corporate events of up to 500 guests, as well as private parties and weddings. The two-floor restaurant has 90 covers (200 standing), but this expands with the addition of a marquee which has direct views onto the water and across to City Airport. Choose from a varied set menu or a generous buffet menu. Wine starts at £12, bottled beer at £3. The canopied bamboo bar is an atmospheric, romantic space in which to relax with pre and post event cocktails. City Airport is a 15 minute drive away. Wheelchair access and disabled toilet.
