Market Restaurant
Market Restaurant, at the core of Manchester’s groovy Northern Quarter scene, was an early pioneer of this exciting area and now one of its keystones. Small and friendly, cosy, homely and reasonably-priced it may be, but chef Mary-Rose Edgecombe is serious about local, seasonal sourcing and just great British food. The Market Restaurant has been Manchester Restaurant of the Year, and quite right. Menus change every five to six weeks. New signature pudding: Manchester Pavlova – inspired by Manchester Tart -- lemon-scented pastry, custard cream, toasted coconut and raspberry sauce with a cherry on top. While the wine list is very, very good, the beer list is outstanding. Husband Peter is gregarious front-of-house.

Restaurant Group Information
Market Restaurant is an intimate sort of place, seating just 45 max, but the L-shaped dining room and bar area lends itself to semi-private group events. A Starters Society and Pudding Society meet regularly here to deepen their knowledge of the Market Restaurant’s menu. The welcome couldn’t be warmer.
