Kanteen
As much thought has gone into creating Kanteen as K West, the designer hotel it belongs to, is obvious from the moment you step into the trendy restaurant on a mezzanine floor above the buzzy bar. Luxurious rich blue and red leather seating is very modernly matched with dark wood tables that contrast with pale wood floors. No wonder the local media (BBC TV Centre is nearby) crowd feel so at home. A modern eclectic menu of exciting surprises is on offer including tempura pak choi, and confit of chicken with parcels of Parma ham stuffed with risotto and pesto. Dessert showcases simpler pleasures such as chocolate fondant, and lemon tart.

Kanteen's hip main dining area has 50 covers. If that's not big enough for your event, whether it be a stag party, get-together, business dinner, Christmas party or anniversary, try the K Lounge. An equally good-looking private area, it can fit up to 150 people standing. Hire Kanteen exclusively and you can expect to welcome 250 guests. Up to ten can dine a la carte, while a maximum of 50 can eat from a set menu, and 250 can nibble on nice canapés. The buzzy informal bar below provides a convenient place to meet for pre or post meal drinks. Ever welcome, children can use a highchair if they want one. Disabled facilities include access to the toilets.
