E Bar
Hmmm, e for easy? Excellent? Enticing? The e bar is just what you want if what you want is seriously smart cocktails in a trendy, modern setting accompanied by authentic Spanish tapas superbly presented. The chef, Barry Tonks, has probably cooked some of your most memorable meals at other high-regarded eateries (Putney Bridge, The Landmark) and is here adding more lustre to his reputation for being a high-quality chef. Try house cocktail of ginger cosmopolitan then tuck into anchovy fillets from Conservas Ortiz, and bittersweet pickled figs from El Bierzo, and Salchichon de Vich from Cataluna, and coarse cut chorizo picanta from Leon. Restaurant Group Information
Somehow tapas lend themselves beautifully to group dining, whether it's an eat-drink-and gossip gathering over Earl Grey marTEAnis or a full-on birthday bash, there's something so moreish about the complex flavours. The e bar does them beautifully, from marinated white sardine fillets to serrano ham from Aragon to whole roasted piquillos. The terrace is available for private parties, as is a private room, seating up to 10. The decor is very smart in the modern style, so it's a good bet for launches and PR events, too. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed.
