Departure bar and brasserie in Crutched Friars is great place to meet friends, play some pool or dance till late. Conveniently placed at the heart of the City, this subterranean yet brightly-lit bar buzzes with happy young urbanites attracted by the superior bar snacks and imaginative drinks list. The feel is informal and clubby, and the Ancient & Modern décor has vibrant red shades rubbing shoulders with a lit section of London’s original Roman Wall. Order a cocktail, settle down in a booth and tuck into the likes of salad Niçoise, Cumberland sausages with mustard mash or homemade burgers. For sharing, there are some very tempting Oriental and Mediterranean/Middle Eastern platters. To burn off the calories, head for the dance floor and boogie to a mix of everything from techno and soul to old skool and chill-out. With good food and drink, a pool table, a dance floor and plasma screens showing major sports events, you’ll be hard pressed to find a reason to leave Departure.

Restaurant Group Information
You can hire the whole of Departure for up to 60 people sitting down or up to 350 standing. If you’re more into small and select gatherings, you can also reserve one of the comfy booths for up to 10 people. They’ll arrange musicians and other specialist event services at your request, although Departure’s pool table and DJ rota should keep the most demanding of guests happy. If there’s a big sports event on, the plasma screens make this a great place to get a group together to watch it.

A deposit of £40 is required for group bookings which will be refunded on arrival. Ther will be no refund given for cancellation that is within 24 hoursof the booking.
