We went to Yi-Ban's in a big group and I cannot fault the service and hospitality we received. The live music definitely complemented the atmosphere and the food was perfect. We will definitely hold another birthday dinner here in the future!

YI-Ban has a nice view of city airport and being by the docks gives it a little exclusivity. I would not say all the dish's we tried were great but avearage. The staff were a little too occupied to be able to offer a good service. It has a good loction to host a group event.

I have been to Yi Ban a few times and each time they have been spot on with everything.

I was there fore dinner. The food was pretty good, esp the squid.definitely above average. However, being so out of the city centre/in the middle of nowhere. It is a bit on the pricey side.

I wonder if they have different chefs to cook different dishes or whether they all cook everything at Yi Ban. The salt and chilli squid can be absolutely gorgeous, light and just right on the seasoning front and then on other days - such as yesterday, just way too salty. Why? Difference in taste also occurs with some other dishes, such as the hot & sour soup. Maybe the chefs should get together and try each others dishes to check and maintain consistency?

It was the first time we have taken guest to the Yi Ban but it didn’t affect the service and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Still the best Chinese restaurant in the East of London.

I find the band a bit too loud (didn't realize they have a band last time i visited...). Food is ok, slightly under expectation. Rice is a bit hard. The roast duck is nice, though.

We go to Yi Ban quite a lot as there isn't much choice in the way of restaurants around here. The food is aways ok with all the usual chinese dishes on offer. The dim sum is good here. One thing I would change is the front of house woman. Is it me, or am I expecting too much for the greeting person to be friendly and courteous? It may be the chinese way (I am chinese!) to not smile and stomp off to show you your table - it would be quite funny if it wasn't so rude. The other staff are much nicer

Yi Ban has been one of my favourite restaurants for some time. On this visit I invited along 6 people who had not been before and everyone enjoyed the food. Service was attentive but not intrusive, the waitress even took the time to find out that the sticks used for the prawn dim sum were made from sugar cane. Wonderful location for a daytime visit as I discovered a new walk afterwards using a footbridge next to the restaurant to Thames Barrier Park.

I booked the Yi-Ban for a 50th birthday celebration and we were all very happy with the whole experience. The service was brilliant and the food was enjoyable. I would highly reccomend this restaurant to anyone.

The restuarant has a lovely feel to it and the decor really sets the mood. The food came very quickly, some may say too quickly but we was not complaining. The staff were good at leaning the table and keeping drinks well stocked up.

The food and service was great. The staff are really friendly and will not rush you when your eating. They always asked before clearing the tabel to ensure that we actually did finish and not presume we finished like most other restaurants. The only thing that let it down was the lady singing. Background music would have been more suitable for a Tuesday night.

The singer was too loud became annoying in the end. also a large group and they were extremely loud took over the restaurant.
