    Great value with 50% off

The menu was tantalising - would have loved to try all the varied combinations within it - was even tempted to have two starters instead of a main meal as choosing between them was hard. Would go again - the 50% off deal is very worthwhile. To summarise: the food was very good and service was good.

I came here when this used to be an old school city pub. There food has definately improved but scratch beneath the surface nand its not that different from the old pub - I'm sure the furniture is still the same! Service was friendly though and the food was delcious, will come again.

It was a struggle to find the restaurant part of this “bar and restaurant”. On Friday night it constituted 3 tables at the back of the building, with great views onto the lake. I must admit my heart sunk when I saw the place and heard the lively Friday night revellers at the bar. But when the food came, it all paled into the background. The menu was short but interesting and everything we had was fresh, delightful and gorgeous. Service was friendly and attentative and despite my original misgivings we had a really great night. With the 50% off it’s a real steal, please go!

The food at the Wood Street Bar and restaurant was delicious, and excellent value with 50% off. We had a great view over the Barbican lake, but felt a bit tucked away from the action. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a handy pre-theatre dinner.

Lovely food and friendly service. Fantastic value with the special offer.

The Wood Street Bar & Restaurant seems to excel on the quality of its food, especially the meat. I sampled a pork starter, the steak and the lamb, all superb cuts cooked to perfection by a chef who knows what he's doing. Tasty, succulent - the best lamb I've ever eaten! Aside from that, the ambience is nothing special - typical gastropub style - which made the prices seem a little high. Good with the TT offer though.

The Wood Street Bar and Restaurant is a gem of a find in a what would otherwise be a rather grey part of london! All the cosiness of a country pub with the gastronomic delights of a top london restaurant. Very yummy food, very good service. A great place for the catch up dinner i enjoyed with a friend. Wit h the 50% offer, this place is a must!

Overlooking the water at the Barbican, the Wood St bar and restaurant was indeed worth the effort in finding it. Friendly attentive staff, reasonable choice on the menu and a good house white. Good value with the 20% toptable discount

Wood Street Bar & Grill is an ideal City lunch venue. It overlooks Barbican lake so is very nice on a sunny day. My steak was good - though could have been a bit more 'medium' on a medium-to-well request. The place was empty on a Friday lunchtime which was a shame as it would have added to the atmosphere.

Wood Street Bar & Restaurant I visited with my partner last night and a lovely evening we had. It was a bit difficult at first to find the restaurant part of the venue but once I'd checked with the bar they had our booking. The waitress couldn't have been more helpful. I will definately go back and next time it will be in daylight as there is a lake most of the tables overlook which would have been lovely to see but somewhat dark when we arrived at 9pm.

The restaurant is a little tucked away but well worth a visit. The restaurant was quiet but it was early on a Tuesday night so to be expected, although the bar area was busy. Food was very good & service friendly & the 20% offer helped as the prices here, although not expensive by City standards, are not cheap. Our table overlooked the Barbican water gardens which was lovely so try to ask for a table by the windows if you can.

It is very pleasant to sit in the window and look out at the Barbican's water garden. The Wood Street restaurant is a good place to have a business lunch because even when the restaurant is quite full you can hear yourself and your companion talk. The menu offers a good choice of food which is quickly served and attractively displayed. The chips are great!
