Reviews of Wedgwood The Restaurant

Food very good only criticism was that it could have been hotter.

Wedgewood was our latest attempt to find something in between the Tower/Witchery/Rhubarb and Martin Wishart - i.e. better food than the former but cheaper than the latter. It probably pulled it off - the food was excellent "Modern British" style (I had a starter of pigeon on haggis neeps and tatties followed by an immaculate beef fillet and a surprisingly good cheeseboard) and the wine list broad and reasonable. Couple of minor service points knocked a point off but nothing to worry about.

The Wedgwood was an excellent find. Although quite small, the food and service were first class. Thank you, we will be back soon.

Our first time dining here but we will certainly return. The food was beautifully presented and delightful to eat. We all throughly enjoyed the experience. Amazing too that in this time of 'credit crunch' and on a Tuesday night the restaurant was full - that says something.

A real find! A perfect menu, we both could have chosen several different dishes for starter and main courses. Beautiful presentation and you could see the chef plating up every dish. Great hospitality in smart intimate surroundings. Would highly recommend.

Wedgewood is a small restaurant but with a good atmosphere. The staff are friendly and knowledgable and the food was excellent, fresh and well presented. Worth going out your way for.

second visit to Wedgwood (this time during the week). Excellent food - I couldn't resist the scallops again, and my dining companion loved them too. Great choice of wine, and super service. Can see this place becoming a regular haunt!

Wedgwood prided beautifully-presented food (portions could be larger though).Service was excellent, ambience coloured by tight space and curious passer-by on the pavement outside.

Had a lovely meal at the Wedgewood Restaurant in Edinburgh, the service was attentive but not pushy and the food was excellent, well presented and tasty. The portions were not huge which meant having a starter and desssert was possilbe without feeling too full. Only criticizm would be the price of a bottle of wine, even the cheapest was expensive. If restaurants priced wine more reasonably more customers would purchase.

Wedgwood was very handily located to our accomodation, which was a bonus, but wouldn't have minded if a little further afield as very pleasant all round. The Fillet steaks were excellent and the wine list interesting and good value. Starters were a little variable with the squid slightly disappointing but scallops and tiger prawns better. We were very well looked after and would visit again

Simply excellent in every respect, food fantastic, think near michelin quality at half the price. Staff are first class and so enthusiastic. Will be back soon.

Being our 1st visit to Edinburgh we chose Wedgwood the Restaurant based on reviews on this site. We were greeted by warm & friendly staff. The food was beautifully presented and the combination of flavours was sublime. The fillet of lamb deserves particular mention. The wine list offered plenty of choice and the zinfandel we chose perfectly complemented our meal. We enjoyed our meal so much we returned again the following night & look foward to our next visit to Edinburgh & this hidden gem.

Interesting, inventive, well-presented, nicely-delivered and very tasty food indeed. A cracking little place at the lower end of the Royal Mile. Portions are good, apart from the bread which ordinarily isn't a gripe of mine, but it is when the dip is as blimming gorgeous as here. Everything comes with boiled new potatoes and greens - fine with pork, but a bit questionable with scallops. The melted mulled wine sorbet-ii-a-shot-glass was weird but actually quite good. Tasted of popping candy.

Best dinner in quite some time, not only was the food right up there but the service as well. We shall most definitely return.
