Yet again a wonderful meal at Voujon; I am always amazed at how few people seem to be eating, albeit we do tend to get there earlier than most, as we usually have a concert at 7.30 (It's only a short bus ride from the centre, and very well located for the Queen's Hall, but 5-10 minutes on foot). The food is among some of the best Indian food I and my friend have tasted, the chicken dishes in particular, and the service is impeccable. Do give Voujon a try.

Voujon was a bit disappointing on the food front after reading the previous reviews. The food was well presented and tasted fresh, starters were very good but my main seemed to lack the spice that I expected. Otherwise no complaints.

Voujon is by far our most favourite Indian restaurant in Edinburgh. Last night we were delighted to introduce a friend from Cape Town to the establishment. Once again, we found the whole experience to be first class. The manager and staff are extremely friendly, efficient and in absolute control. We'll be back again soon.

What a fantastic evening! The food was lovely - better than most other Indian/Bengali restaurants that we've been to. The service was attentive but not overly so and the surroundings are very nice too. We had two courses, a bottle of wine and other alcoholic drinks and it all came to less than £25 per head which is really reasonable especially considering how tasty the food was! I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant!

This was not our first visit to Voujon - we rate the restaurant very highly and were confident that our return would prove as enjoyable as previous occasions. This proved to be the case where once again virtually everything was of a high standard. Only one slight hiccup - a main course chicken dish was provided instead of the lamb equivalent which had been ordered but the situation was promptly and willingly rectified.

Yet another rewarding visit to Voujon - it was good to see this time that they were a bit busier, being slightly out of the centre of town. But BUSES GO THERE and it's well worth the effort. The food is excellent, especially a nicely piquant jalfrezi. We have never had a disappointing meal here, and for two of us with drinks (two large Cobras each) the bill plus discretionary tip only begged £50! So get going, and enjoy one of the best Indian sub-continent restaurants around.

While the location of Voujon is slightly off the beaten track, I would thoroughly recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for quality Indian cuisine. The waiters were immensely patient with our large party. Service was excellent, and this was matched by the high quality food and wide range of dishes available. Very good value for money too.

We've been to Voujon before; we'll be going to Voujon again! A five minute bus ride from the centre of Edinburgh, this restaurant in Newington deserves to be far better known. The decor shows a lot of thought; the food too. Quite simply, we've never found much to gripe about, and I like griping. To the food - try anything; if you're one to want to find fault, you'll probably be disappointed - and none of those awful pre-packed frozen desserts. What more is there to say, but - ENJOY!
