The Marathon Restaurant and Bar (Ethiopian) was a lovely place for a quiet mid-week dinner with friends. There were few other diners when we went, but this is probably because it was early on a Wednesday evening, although people popped in and out all night. The food was excellent: as good - and perhaps better - than in other similar restaurants I have been to, and the waitress was very smiley and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for an unpretentious tasty meal!

The food was simple but tasty. The most interesting aspect of this restaurant is how you feel like you have just walked into the Ethopian community in London. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly and welcoming.

Marathon was a great night out for trying something new. the ethiopian food was authentic and yummy. we had 3 of us and we had a starter (lamb parcel thing, SO GOOD) and then shared the platter taht lets you try a bit of everything for main. we couldn't finish it!! and we got to try so many fabulous flavours. Cheap beer and spirits too, was a great dining experience!!

The restaurant is amazing. Really laid back atmosphere and excellant food. Will definately be going back again.

All of the food at Marathon Restaurant was authentic Ethiopian food not influenced at all by European cuisine. The food was delicious. The ambience was that of a social hall (regular patrons watching football on TV) rather than a restaurant. The service was efficient. The restaurant was clean. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to experience the genuine cuisine--don't expect to get side order of chips.
