A group of us went here at my suggestion. The starters were sublime. Our waiter was very pleasant, but did appear to become intoxicated as the evening wore on. Our main courses ranged from excellent to one of the diners being very dissatisfied with hers as she had ordered the same as someone else and it was obvious that they had been cooked together and then shared out, unfortunately not well as she only had 2 pieces of meat! Dessert again ranged from excellent to average, choc mousse was poor!

A great look at mangetu. A bit quiet but I think it was because we dined mid week. Good food and a relaxing atmoshere. Will be back on a weekend.

On arrival at Mangetu we were pleasantly surprised by the look and style of the restaurant, however it went down hill from then on! They were just not prepared for Valentines, not enough staff, coupled with a very basic yet expensive set menu. The service was appalling, they just didn't know what was going on, and completely forgot about us, we had to prompt every course. Which when finally served, was almost thrown across the table at us. We wont be back!!

Mangetu is a lovely restaurant, took partner there for valentines, has a great setting for this. Food was great apart from the lack of choice. 3 starters, 4 mains and 2 sweets. Although there is plenty of staff the service was very very slow and several diners left without eating.Impossible to have a good drink as the service is so slow, nearly every diner was chasing the waiters for service. Was very cheap but would rather pay more and have better service. will return because of the service.

The Mangetu was a real find within the gloom of Downham. The menu was varied and exciting. The food was generally very good with only one of the starters being a bit bland. Good value for money and service. Way superior to your average curry house. Hope they can get more punters in.
