Really would recommend! Food was fantastic and plenty of it! Service excellent with dishes recommended by the waitress. Restaurant was well decorated, the toilets let it down slightly though. A great ambience and overall dining experience.

Had an enjoyable evening in mai thai. Very nice menu with good quality food with nice presentation. Good service and good ambience and drinks are not too expensive.

Dined early Saturday night - food was extremely good - authentic Thai flavours (spiced sea salt in banana leaf and monkfish/scallop in curry sauce particularly good). Starter platter was good too. Service was unobtrusive, quick and discreet; ambience is nothing special but food makes up for it. Only disappointment was very limited selection of non-alcholic drinks - was looking for elderflower water or lime juice but soft drink choice disappointing. Overall, absolutely recommend this place.

I would definitely recommend The Mai Thai. The food, although not as spicy as I expected from menu description, was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is very well designed and the staff were very helpful and well-mannered. The only slight criticism I would have is that the music was a little quiet which meant we were having to whisper in order not to be overheard.

Lovely meal, nice place, shame about the location in a way as no other bars, nice places to go to after in the same area.

Mai Tai has again excelled themselves. Recommended the perfect easy going wine that flows both with King Prawn dishes as well as duck plates. We will be back!

Mai Thai, in a lovely location at night suffers only from a lack of atmosphere that more custom would bring. Eating off the set menu the offered plenty of delicious food, allowing you to enjoy your favourites and try something new.

Mai Thai - Great Service, lovely food, table was delayed but automatically received complimentary bottle of fizz - would go again, very near to Pleasance so perfect if you've been to a Festival Show.

Mai Thai- About 15min walk from Princes street up the amazing Royal Mile towards Scottish Parliament. It was Sat night so SP area was very quiet, being the less tourist end of town. The adjoining bar was almost empty, but the restaurant completely full. Good menu yet not overwhelming, the wine also. Disappointing was the wait, 1 hour to be served, but when it did arrive was good & sizeable. Not a real romantic setting, too bright & open. Wood carvings decorated the otherwise concrete walls. 6/10

We waited 40 minutes for a bland, uninspiring meal and left hungry. My beef rendang cury tasted like a poor Irish stew and the accompanying noodles were so meagre and padded out with tasteless veg that I was staring longingly at my partner's portion of rice. That they turned away customers at 9.30pm from a half full restaurant seemed absurd. Fine if you work in one of the many offices around, really disappointing on a Saturday evening and you're footing the inflated bill. Not impressed.

The Mai Thai serves excellent Thai food - very fresh and fragrant tasting. The service was extremely efficient and friendly. I will have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and look forward to my next visit.
