Food was as lovely as ever. I had the chicken with wild mushrooms and peas, which had such a depth of flavour. My partner had the ploughman%u219s, which had more cheese on it than a single person could reasonably eat, but he still managed it. The best place to eat in Stratford with great beer and a lovely wine list.

King eddies is superb. Fantastic pub with extra special 'gastro pub' type food - great chef! Delicious, contemporary, hearty, comforting food done to perfection in a oldy-worldy wonderful pub. A

Tasty fish and chips at King Edward VII, and service was fast, although provision of cutlery was haphazard (had to go and search for a soup spoon, then had to ask for a knife and fork for the main course). Good atmosphere and nice relaxed surroundings. First visit to Stratford and will come to this pub again.

This is a usual haunt for us, but it has been some time since we have actually been. I had the chicken which was divine. High quality food for a little place like Stratford.

My first visit to the King Edward and a real suprise. A nice easy going pub, good beers and above all great food. My girlfriend had the Venison burger which was just perfect. I went for the Pork Belly with Sweet Potato and Watercress mash. Big portions, cooked superbly & very tasty. A real treat. Cant wait to go back

King Edwards is a good local pub. Food is always tasty and atmosphere is always friendly. Coudl definitely do with more variety on the menu though!

King Eddies - There was quite a long wait for food as we arrived at the end of the lunch hour but the food was worth the wait. There is an interesting choice of beers and although the food menu seems small, all the dishes are extremely tasty.

well, I was really looking forward to mothers day! the service let the whole thing down. the beef (sunday lunch!) was ok, though I noticed that others (men) appeared to get a lot more beef than me (a woman). it took 35 minutes from taking our plates to asking if we wanted pudding - even though we had decided against starters on the basis that we told the waiter we would definately have desert....it took another 40 mins for it to come! poor service, another drink not offered. not good. sadly.

Stratford seems like it's a bit out of the way, but isn't really, and the food at the King Edward was well worth the short trip. The staff are genuinely friendly, the service was spot-on. We couldn't fault the food; my guest was still talking about it two days later. The pub has beautiful original features and is welcoming and comfortable. We popped over to the Picturehouse (to see Hot Fuzz - which was rubbish) and made an evening of it. Will definitely be going back.
