We have visited for the first time on Friday evening 7:30, the restraurant was pretty empty. The Kerala Bhavan restaurant is a nice place - truly indian. Food was tasty, portions filling with a kind service. We will visit again.

Got there on a Friday evening at 6.45. Service was impecible, although had to wait a while when ordering another portion of rice to finish the delicious mains. The meat dishes (we all ordered lamb) were excellent, meat lean and very tender, and portions were generous. By the time we left, around 8.00 the restaurant seemed pretty full.

Once again, the Kerala Bhavan does not disappoint. The food, as always, is excellent, and certainly the restaurant is the best South Indian/Keralan Restaurants I have ever visited. Far superior to those in Tooting.

We came late... perhaps this was the problem. The restaurant was completely empty... so no atmosphere. However, the food was superb... really brilliant, varied and tasty. The staff were excellent and efficient. I will go back at an earlier time. This is a great find. Stonking value.

Surprising find in this location by West Croydon station. Spacious inside. Quite quiet on bank holiday evening. Friendly service though some language difficulties. My special biryani was excellent though my wife's could have had more flavour. Wine is very cheap. As a group of 4 with 2 botts wine we spent less than £80. Excellent value. Somewhere to go again

We visited the Kerala Bhavan in West Croydon for the first time in May 2008. It was quiet and small but we were immediately welcomed and shown to a nic table. The service was excellent and they were very attentive. The food, which was hot and delicious arrived fast. Though a simple dish, I loved the rasam. I'm sure I will go again and try other things on the menu. Well done Kerala Bhavan!

Although a regular eater of Indian food, I always come back to this restaurant - it takes the premium. Croydon is now vying with Tooting as 'curry capital' of south London and this restaurant is in the forefront.

Kerala provided 7 dishes,a pint of Kingfisher and 2 glasses of wine for £25 inc service. The samosas, spinach dal and pooris were excellent ; the rest decent. Certainly a cut above the average Indian in this ptice range.

Well here we were back at Kerala a week after the first visit. We again had the special Sunday lunch thali and are happy to report that several dishes were a variation on the previous offering. If you ever so slightly fancy an Indian you find yourself gravitating here because at these prices for this quality it makes so much sense!

Kerala provides good authentic south Indian fare and is truly amazing value. The Sunday lunch thali consists of 12 mini dishes for £5.95 and you really cant eat any more. There's Kingfisher on draught decent house white by the glass. The service is like it is in India the decor also and you leave planning your return visit to be very soon ! Why pay so much more for something modified for trhe western palate - it isn't swish but you wont be disappointed.
