Joe Allen's is a delight. Great food in a cosy, informal atmosphere. There is also a pianist who has been playing there for donkey's years.

Joe Allen is always a great place to visit. Food and service up to their usual high standards.

Love Jo Allen!! This place has so much character, and is such a find. The very obliging and sweet staff let my friend and I share one starter, one main and one side dish without batting an eyelid. It was all yummy - including an absolutely melt-in-your-mouth steak - probably the best I've ever had! They don't charge service, which is so impressive, and definitely made me tip them more. Go go go - and watch out for the thespy celebs for star-spotting!

This was my first visit to Joe Allen's and I loved it. It was noisy, buzzy, theatrical and atmospheric. The staff were very pleasant and our meal was really enjoyable. It was the ideal birthday treat and I would recommend it highly.

Joe Allens - Covent Garden. Absolutely fantastic. Nothing short of perfection. A tiny, yet lively hidey hole in the middle of the theatre district proved to be a very romantic setting as well as a buzzing, vibrant one. The food was delicious with the traditional 'off the menu' burgers going down very well. The service was impeccable, a very pleasant and efficient waiter service. All this, plus great music for only £50 for two. Can't say any better than that! 5 Stars. Defintely will return :)

Had a great dinner at Joe Allen last night! Went with the suggestion of the off-menu burger and it didn't disappoint! Really fab. Service a bit lacking with a rather aloof waiter and a few things being forgotten, but food and atmosphere completely make up for it!! Great place.

Me and my girlfriend ate at Joe Allen's recently and enjoyed it immensely. I had the steak which was excellent with very nice big wedges, if a little on the small side. My gf had the chicken dish which she loved. A great selection of American beers and brilliant decor too, however the price is perhaps a little too high for what you get.

with exciting new restaurants opening almost daily, it's all too easy to overlook those restaurants that seem to have been around forever. Joe Allen's is that rarest of all things - consistent. The burgers and caesar salad are about as good as you'll get anywhere in London, the baked New York cheesecake is satisfyingly home baked, and best of all the staff are friendly, attentive, and have the memories of elephants. Go, and you might even see Dale Winton. Pure showbiz, and rather lovely.

Amazing atmosphere at Joe Allens, feels like a step back in time. Although v busy the service is friendly and nothing's too much trouble. Pianist is fab and looks like he's been there since day dot!

Joe Allen is always a winner - reasonably priced, swift service and the £15 two course pre theatre is excellent value. There's also the chance you might spot a celeb or two as well!

The food was simple and flavoursome. The setting was buzzy but not overwhelming. All in all a very pleasant experience.

A post-theatre meal at Jo Allen was a disappointment. Having been to the restaurant several times in the past, we were surprised to find the quality of the food was nothing to write home about on the night of our visit. Mushroom side dish with not a mention of garlic on the menu arrived weighted down with several chopped cloves per mushroom... boring lump of cheddar served as a dessert tasted as if it had had green fur hacked off every surface prior to leaving the kitchen. Can do better!
